That is ridiculous.

I would take a look at either the transcript (or listen to the podcast) here from Brian Dunning's Skeptoid - he includes sources that you can look up afterwards. It's a good 11 minute rundown of the test and its efficacy.

http://skeptoid.com/episodes/4221

I forget what I tested as originally, but I had to take it again for school (and pay for it, which was a sham) and got something different (if it was scientific, I would expect to fall back in the same categories) and not only did it say on one page that I would NOT do well in horticulture, but two pages later it said I WOULD do well in horticulture. Well, which is it? This is the aspect that makes me angry - I'm both great with plants and extremely interested in them. So your test is bullshit. How many people get turned down because of an unscientific personality test? Fortunately I've never had a job make me take the test as a part of the hiring process.

Might as well ask my Greek/Roman or Celtic horoscopes (Aries and Willow). It's about as telling.

I meant professional counselors, you know, when you go in with depression or whatnot. Of course, the article you linked says they don't. My last one did (she was totally useless, too). I guess that is another indication of what a crappy counselor she wa.

I had no idea people were using them to judge job applicants.
Giving some sort of personality test isn't new ,though. I applied for a crappy job at Joanns fabrics about 20 years ago, and they gave me a test, too (not this one), not a real interview.

It shouldn't be used by counselors either, if the psychological community doesn't recognize its efficacy.

Yeah, I just updated my comment about my experience with the counselor that gave it to me.

Post your Myer's Brigg's personality type (MBTI) and religious views.

If you do not already know your type, this test is pretty decent i think (although I hate the types of questions, I scored the same profile as I have previously got with professionally administered tests). And it's free; http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/JTypes2.asp

I am an INTP, and an atheist. Atheism is a no-brainer really.

Ultimately no. I would not feed this because idiot theists will use this as excuses to call poor drug addicts atheists(even if they believe) and will also use it to accuse rich people of not being "true Christians".

Evolution has always produced the same range of personalities no mater the label the person claims.

"Personalities" have more to do with DNA and chemical make up and upbringing. There is no simplistic discription of a "personality".

You can make general observations that "this person" with more testosterone seems to be more agressive.

But the truth is you can have BOTH sensitive men and agressive men and sensitive women and agressive women. That has always been the case and will always trancend labels and boarders.

Evolution is the Roseta Stone to understanding. Not simplistic labels like "personalities".

Life is a range so you cant use one factor such as label or just DNA or just nationality. Evolution has always been a combo of DNA, and environment and culture.

ISTJ, atheist.
I think it is worth pointing out that while I feel that the result is at least somewhat accurate, many of the questions could not accurately be answered with a yes or no, in my opinion. For example, one asked if I was able to easily communicate in social situations. I am able to do so here, but I am not when talking in person. Of all of the things tested here, the only one that seems to predict atheism would be the analytical stuff.

INTJ, atheist. I agree with darkstar in that there should be more than just yes/no options.
