I haven't heard it referred to as "Guy Fawkes Day" in a long time.

Here it's just bonfire night, where the intelligent go to a display and enjoy the fireworks, and the slightly less intelligent start bonfires in their garden with petrol and set themselves and often their houses on fire (My father is a fire fighter so I'm regularly told about rather terrible stories involving fires on bonfire night).

Err...yeah.

Why don't we atheists extend bonfire night into International Burn a god day, Americans you can use the same fancy dress from Halloween, we brits could bring the fire, we make effigies of gods to go on the fire.

A day to celebrate, the burning of religious intolerance, and the ending of religion. It's about time we atheists had our own holiday, and a bit of fun!
