[quote]you go for that bullshit? Or are you kidding? I can't tell.
Again, you seriously go for that?[quote/]

Yes I really do meditate, and yes I found meditating tedious at best.
Yes I had the same response as you, I too had projected, without any knowledge or experience of the product that it was bullshit, and low and behold when I tried it I actually found that this "shit" worked...and much better at releiving stress than getting high did.
as a matter of fact it has proven quite effective as a product that helps people to stop drinking and using drugs.
I am quite chill, and not at all surprised as to how quick you are to reject the idea that there is a technology for improving your brain function, I felt the exact same way the first 300 times I read the ads and articles, bullshit.... But after finding virtually no applicaple answers from religion and therapy I decided "What the hell," and found out that is what it is, a nuerotechnology that works and that is scientifically proven to work.

Why not take me up on my offer to try it for free? Then if it doesn't work you could really bash me, and expose me for the fool I am Smile
Or, OMG, you might like it!
And that's all I have left to say about Holosync.
[quote] I have friends who go get high on weed. Maybe you should try that too.
It may help you chill [quote/]
HELLO-I live in Los Angeles, I grew up in THE Valley, I was the first person to utter the words "Dude, load me up another Whitney, I wanted to get wasted to the max."
But that's another story of which I have no recollection.

Meditation works, I'd agree. I'd almost count it as necessary. You should try religion - it heightens the experience even more! Big Grin

"YOUR" offer to try it for free? Does the company not offer that then??

Seriously... this is nothing to do with atheism, you're just another sucker of New Age bullshit profiteering. Keep it to yourself mate and stop spreading bollocks.

Meditation has done wonders for me. And by meditation I mean meditating on my thoughts, over and over....not anything mystical lol.

I don't really think it's possible to decide what to believe but I wonder if all we have here is a misunderstanding?

That is a belief about beliefs.

Beliefs are really part of our brain functions to justify ego, to validate identity.
When we become consciously aware of how we use beliefs then they can become a very powerful motivational tool. However, when we are unaware that we are operating from our belief systems trouble ensues.
"Big Boys don't cry" is an example of a belief, born out of a parents desire to repress their childs feelings, which was done unto them. Most unconscious (or subconscious)beliefs are passed down from one generation to the next.
In my family Big Boys don't cry goes back to; "There will be no teardrops in this house," which goes back to our German Christian ancestry of "You don't cry when I beat you, otherwise Dr. Shriebers beating box is a complete waste of money!"
The more a person believes in a thing the harder they will fight to keep that belief, and we experience what that looks like here in this forum all the time-people bashing heads for their beliefs. Frodo is a great example of this, because we see how Frodo will keep arguing Frodo's beliefs as actual facts, and when facts are presented to Frodo, Frodo will either delete, distort, or generalize the fact to fit into Frodo's beliefs about God. That's why we keep seeing people asking Frodo why Frodo didn't answer the question, or "that's not what I'm saying or asking you Frodo."
The problem with beliefs is the more subconscious beliefs you have the more you are filtering your life experience through them. If you had the belief big boys don't cry beaten into you as a child, you would not be able to identify a child being abused by its parents as an adult-it would strike you as perfectly normal and healthy. If you had "God will judge you in heaven," drilled into you as a belief,(Another way for parents to repress their childrens feelings through fear) then as an adult you could expect yourself to unconsciously judge people in that same manner; "I'm not judging you for being an Atheist-God will do that in heaven!" The presumption of course is that the Atheist is bad and will pay. In other words, that God will deliver your repressed feelings of anger unto the non believer.
If you are consciously aware of your beliefs then you could actually communicate your feelings. "It pisses me off when you laugh at my religion." Which is real and tangible and in the present moment. Then you can enter into an actual dialogue.
To me this is what this site is about-debunking beliefs. And if you are trying to debunk a Frodo's beliefs you will get nowhere, because Frodo doesn't know that Frodo is acting from a place of defending Frodo's beliefs at all costs.
Peace In

It does but it is not as strong as the first set of Cds.

Like I said I thought the same thing for two years, then I tried it and it worked. ANd nothing pisses me off more than New Age Bullshit profiteering-And I am going to put myself in your shoes and I concur that I can see where you would se me as spreading bullocks so I will honor your wish and stop spreading bullocks.

Thankyou, good to hear it.

I try to be open minded and accept and take on any challenge to my standpoint. I constantly test and challenge my beliefs. It's the only healthy way IMO.

We all have our beliefs and of course justify them. You are no different to me with this.

I'll go with that. The cut-off point between 'healthy' and 'unhealthy', can't really be defined precisely... but - I personally will go with that Big Grin

Om,

I actually dated a councilor that worked for centerpointe. She was pretty smart when it came to sorting out problems of the mind but seemed a bit too dependent on the system from what I could tell.

I did the free trial and it was wierd the way the cd made you feel. At the time I didn't have the money to invest in it and now I just don't see the point. Do you have any peer reviewed studys to show the efficacy of the Holosync program and what specific areas I could expect improvement?

RE: Hello Truth Seekers
It's 'bollocks''; an English expression and means "balls" . It can even be used as a compliment. EG: "he's the dog's bollocks"

In this case "bulllocks" with the allusion to bullshit is still good as a generic term to describe new age quackery.

Self hypnosis also works,I've used it to relax and treat headaches. The technique can be learned in few minutes. Then it's only practice. There can be similar effects to meditation. I'd be fascinated to see a comparison of brain activity during both practices.n

Both practices have been used for millennia .Hypnosis was not invented by Franz Anton Mesmer, and Maharishi Mahesh Yogi did not invent what he called 'transcandenall mediation'.
