No they aren't. Infinity is a useful concept, it isn't a number, it can't be a number, it doesn't have the correct properties to be a number.

As I said, you're understanding of infinity and number theory is incorrect.

And there are many infinities; an infinite number of them.
Skepticism is not a position; it is an approach to claims.

Infinity is a number:

∞ = ∞

By definition x + ∞ = ∞. Where x = ∞:

∞ + ∞ = ∞

If infinity is a number then it must satisfy the equation 1 = c/c where c = ∞.

∞/∞ = ∞/∞

(∞ + ∞)/∞ = ∞/∞

∞/∞ + ∞/∞ = ∞/∞

1 + 1 = 1

2 = 1

∞ isn't a number. ∞ isn't something, ∞ is nothing. It cannot be used as a number, only as a concept.

Transfinite math

More transfinite math

It's based on the concept of a set.
Still waiting for you to produce the real number and not the concept Chas.

What do you mean by 'real number' ?

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!

Somebody wrestle my beautiful maffs from the grubby paws of the stupids!

Daniel, you are simply wrong. And that's all I'm going to say on the subject of the transfinite.

"I see it, but I don't believe it."
Richard Dedekind on Cantor's proof that the points in the unit interval were in one-to-one correspondence with points in the unit square.

Thank the stars somebody had the balls to come along and refute my atheism! Now I can go back to having wild weasel sex with the dark goddess without this annoying apostasy.

So, basically what you just told me, is that you don't know.... Doesn't seem like a good reason for me to become an Atheist.

This is because you are not looking for truth, but you just want an answer, and you are not particularly bothered if it is right or wrong.

Is it TGAC's duty to convert you to atheism then? You must be very important.

Atheism has nothing to do with the origin of the universe. Familiarise yourself with a term before you clumsily try to debunk it.

It will not last the night;
But ah, my foes, and oh, my friends -
It gives a lovely light!
