How do atheists account for that fact?

What fact?

YOU have not connected their law abiding to their religion.

The fact is - it is MORE likely that those results are because of the CLOSED COMMUNITY they have constructed around themselves.

Jeez gimmie a break guys come on .. i mean amish .. they suffer from inbred diseases, how moral can you get ...
That guy is just some wacko trying to piss us off ...

Is it fair to discuss the Amish on an online forum, that they cannot/will not participate in and ever know?

This isn't. . . entirely. . . accurate. There are hand-cranked laptops made specifically for third world countries without electricity. . . and the Amish. No, seriously. They'd have to be very unfaithful/progressive Amish people (if they can still be called Amish at that point) but it is possible.

The more you know. Wink

They appear to be learning.

http://www.examiner.com/article/sixteeen...ate-crimes

Quote:Sixteen men and women from an Amish community in eastern Ohio were convicted in court of hate crimes. The hate they were convicted of were for cutting the hair and beards of fellow members of their break-away sect of the Amish faith.

ABC News also reported on September 20 the 66 year old leader, Samuel Mullet, was guilty of orchestrating the hate crimes. He and the other members cut the hair and beards to shame those who were “straying” from their beliefs.

Quote: In one scene from the pilot episode, two 'mafia' members stake out a prominent Amish bishop who was asking a taxi driver to take him to see a prostitute.

The two men barge in on the bishop, camera in hand, to get photographic evidence of the bishop's sin. They then kindly let the woman cover up before letting her go on her way.

While an Amish woman explains the conservative traditions of the lifestyle – long dresses, muted colors, no being photographed, no complicated machinery – a man loads a machine gun.

This is the world of Lebanon Levi, a Mennonite who was never baptized, and therefore never a member of the church. Because of this, Levi is able to live in both communities, living amongst his people but also seeing that his idea of justice is served.
