If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!
Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite. Dead wrong. The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment. Quote:Some people deserve hell. I say again: No exceptions. Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it. As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong. ![]() RE: Hall of wit and epicness.

I'm not even joking - that was seriously her one weakness, being tied up by a man turned her into a helpless little 1940s stereotype. ![]() That sound you just heard was the despairing howl of betrayal torn from the collective psyche of the Women's Lib movement being kicked back at least a century by its greatest hero.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'
They weren't very subtle, that was for sure. "Oh no! A man tied my hands! Now I'm as weak and useless as a NORMAL HUMAN WOMAN! Except that I retain the unique Amazonian ability to cry multiple tears from each eye at once."
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

Wonder Woman did get better later, in all fairness. Somewhat. ![]() I've always enjoyed the story of her creation, too: William Moulton Marston- part inventor of the lie detector, incidentally- based her on his wife, and the pair's polyamorous lover, ostensibly as a feminine hero to respond to the male dominated comic industry. It obviously went a bit astray- Marston had some ideas about what constituted a "good woman," that... well...- , but as a guy who has done threesome relationships in the past, I respected the guy for being so out about it, and how it influenced his work. It was never something I was able to do. ![]()
