Need a Vacation?
December 11, 2012 at 2:39 am
Every now and again I like to create a thread that we can all make nice on ... regardless of one's ridiculous belief system.
What's one of your favorite vacation spots?
and/or
Where would you like to take a vacation?
I'm headed back to Cabo San Lucas in February. Can't Fucking Wait!!

There`s a long tradition here, when ever the summer is shit, we "expand" to whereever the summer is, to make the vacations of others as miserable as possible.

There are so many places I would like to go, so I have to narrow it down
I would like to go back to the "Bear's Trail", just south of Finnish Lapland and go hiking.
I would love to visit Seattle again and see the city with adult eyes.
And it wouldn't be too shabby to go to Japan for the hanami.
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

As long as Shell B is there, I don't mind where I am.

I love Cabo, and have been dying to go back. And you get to miss some of our amazing Michigan weather and replace it with Cabo, you lucky bastard. :p
I would like to go to Europe.

We're waiting for the boys to get a bit older, so we can dump them with grandparents for a couple of weeks. Then hubby and I plan to go to India.
We almost got to go to Ethiopia, Rwanda, and Uganda for 6 weeks this past summer, with the boys. But hubby had an implosion at his office (5 of his 11 people left for greener pastures) so we were unable to do so. We'll do a family trip to Africa at some point.

Paris is very very very very very very very very very expensive. So expensive that it easily explains the cliché of the "arrogant" french people - since living in Paris is so unaffordable that one needs to have more that one job to afford it - which leads to unavoidable grumpyness. And the entire city is just crammed with tourists. There`s no museum or any attraction one could visit without being bothered by tourists. And the suburbs, the socalled "Banlieues" are disasterous death traps.
enought useless grumpyness.
I guess my best holiday was in Rome, I was just 14 back then, but the historic sites and the beauty of the place is overwhelming. The Via Appia especialy is beautyfull.
And I really love eastern europe, especialy Poland - which in the past 10 years has had it`s cities turn into cultural hotspots.
And no one who visits Europe can avoid a at least 3 days stay in Prag.
And I like Göteborg which is in Sweden.
But the best place in the world probably is Berlin, which constantly reinvents itself, is new almoust every day, so incredibly fucking diverse and simply amazing.
I hope I can move there next year.

Fun fact: If you're reading this message, your computer has just connected to a server in Paris.

I have to agree, such a wonderful city!
EDIT: People there didn't even once try to change to English, when I tried to communicate in German with them. Such patient people
