From an Aussie perspective the US economy has already collapsed and we are next. Undecided

Dear 5thHorseman

Pulling a face palm is the best depiction of what the Australian analyst of the current model of economics Paul Mason is talking about in the phrase 'effortless superiority', where the issues are not debated merely dismissed.

He says that issues of debt are dismissed in the first year of most economic university courses around the world, yet debt is a more complex, and important a subject than is given credence in the current model, as such a statement 'forgotten the basics' stands.

As such I must thank you for depicting so well how critics of the current model are treated.

He showed an example of 'effortless superiorty' if ever I've seen one! Just dismiss the opposing argument, without contemplating that just because his opinions oppose your opinions so much it does not mean that he is in the right.

Worry less, The Australian economy is to a large extent driven by the supply of raw materials as such even within the current time of stagnation Australia is likely to be an economy which does well, or at least suffers proportionately less.

Worry more jonb our economy is collapsing with a steady down ward spiral of "growth" and resource investment ended. The fact that our government has "redirected overseas aid funding to support our current illegal refugees" is indicative of a cash flow issue with no reserves in the short term to bolster your sentiment

But yes we are lucky that our "suffering"is much less than the EU or USofA

So what political system are we in? That might seem like a silly question, but everyone as far as I can see is sitting around and saying if things were run my way it would all be different, and presuming the present state of things is not their form of governance, capitalists, say there is not enough of a free market, socialists say there is not enough support for ordinary individuals, etc. But looking at things I see the markets are governmentally controlled by the wealthy, and individuals are discouraged from competing by the left. As such I would say the present state does not fit any political philosophy, in that we are run by expedience.
Those in power do not look at long term solutions or the ramifications of their decisions, but constantly seek quick fixes. As such our system should be classified as a form Anarchy, where the individual receives in proportion to its power.

To me arguments like of left and right that that we should have a capitalist or socialist revolution and then we can start living, seem like excuses not to live the way you want now.
