Which means that in September 930 Americans were killed by guns alone and 4,500+ were wounded.  But, unlike Iraq,  we are supposed to be "at peace."

I really do hate the gun culture in this country.

And once again we have Republicans calling for arming teachers. Because as we all know, we pay our teachers well enough to expect them to learn everything we want them to (on their own dime at that). As a teacher, I say this is a terrible idea. As a parent I say it's one of the stupidest ideas I've ever heard. Kids get their hands on everything, especially in the lower grades. Teenagers can easily overpower their teachers as well. I'm shorter than most of my students, and don't weigh a whole lot more than 100 lbs. How hard would it be for a student to overpower me and get their hands on the gun?

The Republican Parties three favorite solutions:

Option #1 - MORE GUNS!

Option #2 - Do nothing.

Option #3 - Pray (This is redundant, as it's the same as option #2, but the Republican party is a big fan of redundancy when it comes to doing nothing)
