All Hail the Second Amendment
RE: All Hail the Second Amendment
From my neck of the woods.

4-year-old finds loaded gun..  4-year-old shoots himself in the head.  Worthless piece of shit parents start a fucking go fund me page to pay for childs medical expenses.  My heart goes out to the kid.  It isn't his fault that he was born to idiots.  I'd actually consider donating if I knew the money would go to medical expenses and not 1000 round lockbox of ammo.

How is this not the same as leaving your child in a hot car to die?  These people need to go to jail.

UPDATE: A 4-year-old boy is in stable condition after shooting himself with a handgun, according to a statement on a Go Fund Me page.
A statement released on a Go Fund Me page said Micah Zahringer found a gun and shot himself on November 10.
The statement said he suffered major head trauma and was taken to the hospital. A release from Antigo Police Chief Eric Roller said Zahringer was airlifted to a hospital in Marshfield and is in the Intensive Care Unit.

The full family statement from Go Fund Me is below:

On Thursday November 10th, despite his parents' best intentions, 4-year-old Micah Zahringer found a firearm, presumed to be unloaded and shot himself in their home. He suffered major head trauma and was taken by ambulance to Aspirus Langlade Hospital. From there he was air lifted to St. Joseph's Children's Hospital in Marshfield and was immediately taken into surgery. The doctors told the family that he may not make it through the surgery but by God's grace he did. After surgery they were told he had lost a lot of blood and has extensive damage to the right side of his brain, and he would likely need at least 2 more surgeries.
He is in the Pediatric ICU and is sedated to keep him from moving, so as not to further his injuries. Micah's vitals have been recently steady, which is really good news. The doctor is planning to do a CT scan, but is waiting to let Micah rest unless they see something that they cannot explain.
Antigo Police said crews were called to the scene on November 10 at 6:20 p.m.
Authorities said they are treating the incident as an accidental shooting.
Donations for the family can be made on a Go Fund Me page here.

Yup.  That's what happens when you let idiots own guns, chief.

RE: All Hail the Second Amendment
I strolled into my local gun shop the other day. I asked about AK-47s. I've never privately owned an assault rifle. I was in the army so I have experience with a quite few different firearms, but mainly the M-16/AR-15 platform. Anyway, apparently they're gonna start getting pretty inexpensive. My friendly salesman, already wearing a red hat reading, "America: Great Again" advised me that the next shipment was going to go for about $750 per, but that if I waited until close to Christmas, that I could probably save $100 or so.

So I think that's what I'm going to get: an AK-47; like a really old-school looking Kalishnakov. After all, they aren't going anywhere. Instead of sleigh bells, this Christmas is going to have the ring of 7.62 ammo being fired down range.

It's weird. Now that I know that any hope for gun control of any kind is as dead as Charleton Heston, I suddenly don't feel guilty about owning one of the weapons I would absolutely ban if I had the ability to.

Are they making them any better these days? The originals were meant to be used by half-educated farm boys and accuracy was not really important.

What I've discovered in this incredibly important search for my Jesus-bestowed right to excellent firepower is that even the entry-level models, as long as they were made after 2008, are pretty reliable and accurate out to 300 meters or so. And that's good enough for me. I anticipate that if and when Trump's secret police come for me, that I'll probably have to show 'em what America's really about well inside 200 meters or so. However, if I'm willing to spend a couple hundred dollars more (and I am) I can get one that'll be as accurate as any American made AR. And that's pretty damn good.

Next on my list is a compound. I totally didn't know this until a few months ago, but if you show up at a government facility with guns, as long as it's largely not occupied at the time, and if it's in a sparsely populated area, they let you stay for free and even bring you snacks.

The bottom line here is that you need something with solid stopping power that'll make the Trump government wary before it starts showing up and un-Constitutionally arresting us and taking our guns.

Just don't complicate your ammo situation. One caliber of round for hand guns and one caliber of round for long guns.  Otherwise you might wind up with guns you can't use. "Mission specific" rounds in the proper caliber would be allowed under that rule.

My wife was joking about getting a gun to protect herself in #drumphsamerica

The sad thing is that she was only half joking. Now that Trumpsters feel like they have carte blanche to be just like their furor.

I'm with you Opoponax. When the fascist come, they will be met by something they never expected. A liberal packing weaponry. Smile

And without training, support, and plain old nerve you'll just be giving them another gun.
