Anti-gunners should ask themselves a few basic questions. I'll try to break this down into categories for simplicity.

1. Do you trust your government without reservation? Do you belive they will never try to oppress you or pass laws that will curtail the rights and privileges you currently enjoy in whatever country you reside? Do you believe government is infallible and it's wise leadership will never lead to unforseen circumstances that will allow oppression or inequality to exist?

2. Do you believe that other governments will never invade your country, or that if they do your government is capable of repelling invaders? If necessary do you believe your government will use fair and equal methods to raise an army to defend your country?

3. Do you trust the legal system in your country to pass and execute all laws fairly and equally without bias? Do you believe your legal system is now, and will forever be, just?

4. Do you trust your police to always be unbiased in their enforcement of the law, and to treat all citizens fairly?

5. Do you trust your government, legal system, and police with the ability to keep you safe from invaders, criminals, and itself?

6. Do you trust your fellow man to always act within the law and to never harbor ill will or intentionally cause harm or death for any reason? Do you believe that only people with the highest moral and civil standards will ever be your neighbor or a member of your government?

If the answer to any of those questions is "yes" then you clearly suffer from a disconnect with reality. If the answer is "no" to any of those questions and you still believe firearms have no place in society then you deserve whatever misfortune may be your lot, and are undeserving of sympathy.
