For a week with fewer than 40 included incident reports, an awful lot of kids fell victim to GunFAIL: 16 in total, ages 3, 8, 9, 9, 11, 12, 13, 13, 15, 15, 15, 16, 16, 16, 17 and 17. Accidentally shooting yourself was once again among the most popular options, though, with 11 people going that route, including the three law enforcement personnel who experienced GunFAILs this time around. Next most dangerous, as usual, was being near a friend or family member handling a gun.

MIDFIELD, AL, 7/03/14: It's a heart-breaking July 4th for a Midfield family. An 11 year old is dead after what his family says was an accidental shooting. 11 year old Christian Jones was playing at a neighbors house when somehow the two boys found a gun. It went off and hit christian in the eye. He died the next day.

Somehow found a gun? Somehow? Someone...another apparently law-abiding citizen with a gun fetish left the fucking thing where the kids could find it. There is no mystery here.

NRA commentator Billy Johnson this week proposed that children be forced to learn shooting skills in order to graduate as part of a plan to enact “gun-required zones” in the United States, and use taxpayer money to subsidize firearm purchases.

In a video title “Everyone Gets A Gun” that was released on Monday, Johnson complains that U.S. gun policy was focused on limiting access to firearms.

California 80-year-old satisfied after gunning down fleeing pregnant home intruder

Seeing the gun, the couple ran out of the house and started down an alley.

Minnesota man guns down teen girl after she asks him to stop riding lawnmower in her yard

The criminal complaint said that Pickering told officers he had taken his daughters for a ride on the mower, and then the girl came to his house to ask him to stop trespassing.

Pickering said that he “went to her house, knelt by a pine tree and shot her twice after she came out the front door,” the AP reported.

Pregnant FL woman dies after being shot in head by friend showing off his gun collection

Police are investigating the shooting but say that it appears to have been accident. Records show that the gun owner, DeHayes, is 35 years-old and has no criminal record.

Come and Take It Texas, a group affiliated with the open carry movement, is complaining that topless protestors are ruining their monthly walks in support of gun rights.
