Tea
#11
RE: Tea
I'm rather partial to Assam, Darjeeling, Earl Grey (hot) and the occasional (but not as often as I'd like) Lady Grey. Also Green tea is nice. I've never really taken to the herbal range of teas, berries and whatnot, though Sam bought me some mint tea which I really like. No milk but two sugars, not enough to ruin the flavour overmuch but just to remove the bitterness which I've never had a taste for.

I have tried Lapsang Souchong, a tea with "a smoky flavour" and an acquired taste, to put it extremely politely. Imagine taking the contents of the only ashtray at a particularly successful smokers' convention. Now add boiling water and serve. That's essentially what you're getting.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Oh dear... it is quite disgusting, isn't it.
My friends and I play a prank on each other where we will dip a teabag of Lapsang Souchong into someone's pint without them noticing... we call it Souchonging... and yes, we carry spare teabags around with us for such things. Tongue

RE: Tea
I've often wondered is Lapsang Souchong translates to something like "You're actually drinking this shit? No frickin' way!"

RE: Tea

I drink mostly unflavored blacks, either oolongs or puerhs. I tend to avoid green teas or herbal teas, but occasionally drink white tea. A third of my kitchen counter space is buried in tea.

My current regulars are brandy oolong and tuo cha puerh.

I like Yogi teas as well. I've tried Chai black, Egyptian licorice, and Ginger, and like them all.

RE: Tea
I hardly drink tea. I would like to get into to it but I don't know where to start. Any brand recommendations?
