Anyone else here a fan of this fantasy series? I feel like talking about it now because I just finished the final book and it left me feeling kind of high.
I started reading this series back in 2001, when there were only nine books, caught up by the time the tenth one came out in 2003, and have been waiting ever so patiently for the series to end. When Robert Jordan died of amyloidosis in 2007, I was horrified because at the time, we were waiting for the final book in the series. Turned out that there would be three more, and I actually think the new guy (Brandon Sanderson) did a wonderful job (I also think he's a slightly better writer).
Anyway, the final book just came out and I swallowed the thing whole, and considering that I have waited twelve years (half as long as some, the first book was released in 1990) to see how it concludes, my extremely high expectations were thoroughly satisfied.
So yeah, anyone wanna nerd about this with me?
