I doubt Obama is an atheist, after all he was involved with the Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago for quite a long time.

Religion is a political prop in this country.

Lincoln despite him attending church with his wife and children, never professed he was a Christian. I believe Barack Obama has professed he is a Christian, I could be wrong although.

To answer the question though I think he's an Atheist. Just doesn't want to admit it to the American public so he can keep his hands on some of the votes.

Obama is a politician first. So is just about everyone who becomes president nowadays. They're going to do whatever it takes to get themselves elected. Notice how religion is such a big deal in elections? Everyone has to pray to Jesus in public and quote the Bible and their churche are scrutinized (Jerimian Wright and the Mormon church, for example). So it's really impossible to know what Obama's beliefs on the superatural really are if his beliefs are outside the mainstream. He could be a secret Muslim and he'd never tell anyone. He could be an atheist and not tell anyone. He could be a scientologist and keeps it secret simply because coming out would be political suicide.

I don't think he's an atheist, though. Faux News has been putting him under extreme scrutiny. If they found any solid information saying Obama is an atheist, they would be letting us know every second of every day in every way they could think of to tell it to us. The only real possibility for that to not be the case would be that they've found evidence that he's an atheist but they're dismissing it simply because they think they can attack him better by constantly calling him a Muslim.

Now, I understand this sounds stupid for some since he swore on bible on Inauguration day, goes to church and says he is christian. But his politics says otherwise. Things he does are what most atheists would do like ,for instance, including atheists on first inauguration speech, being pro science/climate change/ abortion/ gay marriage/ investment in basic research just to name the few.

Could he be an atheist that doesn't admit publicly because it would be a political SUICIDE?

Well, he might be a moderate Christian. Maybe an Agnostic? We may never know.

People generally think of him as being that but yet he's also he kind of isn't, not if you really want to be technical about it. He just kind of looks that way so that's what he may as well be, but you know it's not as simple as that. Does he believe in God? Sure. Does he believe in the Holy Trinity?
