Until then just trust that cos your family were pretty awful - it doesn't mean all Muslims are.

I'm a Muslim who works within my community with different religious and political groups such as Jews and feminists and we get on great in our work towards a brighter future.

Just don't get caught up too much in these Internet forums of extremists that would shut your mind down to the possibility that there are Muslim, Jews, democrats, whites, republicans, nationalists and communists that can get along just fine. This is a reality that comes about in an integrated society and maybe if your family engaged with the wider community a bit more they wouldn't be so bigoted - but to avoid your family's problems: don't close your mind to the possibility of EVER finding a non-bigoted Muslim

In fact they might be just the person to help your family.
