Here's an interesting question for you... Bob Marley right, one of my favourite artists of all time... died because of his Religion essentially. Does that make you lose some respect for him?

Does that make you lose some respect for him? When you look at Rasta beliefs thay are completely wacko. If Bob marley believed only a fraction of what Rastafari advocates then he was one sad deluded fool. Damn fine musician and songwriter, but away with the pixies and out of touch with reality. Check out the wiki link. That's some crazy religion. Man
'How can you say, "We are wise, for we have the law of the LORD," when actually the lying pen of the scribes has handled it falsely? Jer 8:8

I'm someone who believes it's important to seperate art and an artists beliefs. For example, if it were discovered that John Lennon was a white-supremist closeted Nazi, would it make his art any less beautiful? Not at all. I definitely wouldn't respect him as a person, but I would still be able to appreciate his art. Unless the art is blatantly advocating or expressioning objectionable views(which would take away from the art for me), I can maintain that seperation.
Also, I like a long of songs that a referring to religion or God, but that doesn't mean I support those beliefs. It's kind of a weird thing. |
