Pork roast, mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, boiled cabbage, zucchini and summer squash and corn bread. There were some tomatoes and cucumbers too but they wouldn't fit on my plate.

Usually, yes - though that's not viewed as a rule that's cast in stone these days. That being said, at least 3/4 of the wine I sampled was white. Between meals, I enjoyed Malbec, Merlot, Cab and Pinot Noir. Oh and today: more dungeness crab and oysters. I'm sad/glad they don't do this every weekend. A slight segue from the topic at hand but you just made me think of it: there was an experiment some years ago in which people living in UK harbour towns were asked to sample fresh fish caught locally and compare it with fresh fish caught locally then transported inland to be frozen and delivered all over the country. Interestingly, the frozen article tasted fresher.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

I've heard chefs say that when shrimp are frozen fresh and shipped to an inland location taste fresher than shrimp unfrozen shipped to the same location. Guess freezing stops the aging process.

Grilled oysters and halibut.
I'm dipping into the wing sauce again. also ate some cookie dough earlier because I have no self control. I bought it to make cookies but I keep dipping into the container. -_-
