Not you too (with those, ahem, "derailing" symbols).

Kyuu, they were fluff posting and it's annoying, I was trying to be nice about them stopping it. Please address me privately next time.

Rev- I imagine you can't get by very long if you're not nice to them, since they heavily moderate.

I had a talk with Cali (you know, the blue butterfly) about the VET's situation on RDF in Manchester and it seems while the other mods an admins were trying to make some kind of arrangement to get vets redone in some other way as not to damage the charitable status of RDF, which meant some threads like the bondage one needed to go, OBC went in as if he ran the place, and dumped the whole VET's forum into /dev/null. That got a lot of people in an uproar and then Richard made the very silly remark about "go and suck your thumb on that other forum" and that was the straw that broke the camels back.

What happened to Cali? I would have loved to have properly tangled but he seemed interested just in the creationist type. Did Richard ever return or was he only there afterwards for damage limitation purposes?

I don't remember this specific instance of douchebaggery but I'm sure it went just like the rest of my memberships at forums full of Christian moderators...

Cali still chews up and spits out creationists on RDF, and he recently joined Rationalia as well which was a nice surprise. He is not interested in religion on itself, but as you know a relentless debunker of creationist crap. Cali in real life is just as knowledgeable as he is online, he could cite articles and the weirdest facts and figures at the drop of a hat.

Richard is still a contributing member on the RDF forum when time allows, but with all the travelling and lecturing he is not a very regular poster.
