IT WAS ME.

For reference I heard that joke first when I was at school.
I left school in 1984.

And they did use snoo snoo at the time as the word for sex so I guess that was where futureama got it from.

For the record I have no doubt the "snoo snoo" was around long before the futurerama did that episode. My comment was to answer your orginal question. "I don't know what made me think of that." That fact that futurerama did an episode makes it a valid reference point or 'reminder.'

Either way I am done with snoo snoo. Are there any more hell questions.

Finally! Let's get back to the circular debate, and take it from the top... Drich, why do you believe in hell?

Well, bad people who deserve punishment.. But just because somebody works on sundays they deserve to be killed and go to hell? But if only people who were truly bad went to hell, THEN taht would be fine. And then, since Satan punishes the bad guys, doesn't that make him a good guy?

Been there, done that.

There are a few things in your statement that need to be clarified. The 'sabbath' is Saturday and not Sunday. 'Truly bad' if not based In God's never changing righteousness, it can only ever be a sliding scale. (Which means there are no truly bad people.) Satan does not rule hell. He is being punished there like everyone else. If satan had a realm it would be this world and not hell. (Which is why bad things happen to 'good people.'

Yes why is oblivion not a valid alternative to hell when the title says if not hell then what?

Several people have said oblivion and you have said "to get to oblivion you must go through hell".

Quote:But, that's just it. Your death is not a true death, quite the opposite, it is your spiritual birth into eternity. Christ liken our death as a seed that has been planted. In order for grow and prosper into our fullest potential there is the destruction of the original seed/shell. Meaning our death in this life is just our introduction in the next. So in order for you to die, truly die one must be sent to Hell.

Quote:Would you endure Hell to find your oblivion?

The thread seemed to be offering a choice but actually was just a way of peddling your small minded bullshit.

Because Hell is the process that destroys an otherwise immortal soul. Which makes oblivion Hell final destination. (Meaning Hell is a process, and oblivion is the goal of said process. Which makes the two, one.)

Indeed.

Big Grin I'm not offering anything. I am asking you to provide a choice not already offered by God.

Even in your rebellion you all seem to not been able to demonstrate a want for anything that God does not already offer you. My question was If you do not like God's option, then what would you suggest.

How did you come across such wondrous knowledge about the afterdeath?

Listen...Gods hell exists because he's just not perfect. He needs a place to send his fuck-ups just like everyone else. He doesn't love everyone, and if you've seen the universe sizing perspective, our planet is smaller than the tiniest organism compared to the biggest star. That would make us practically non-existent next to that giant star. If there was this infinite God that surpasses even the energy of that giant star, he would dwarf it the same way it dwarfs our planet, not even to mention how infintesinimely small we would be compared to it, and If there is a god, he prolly doesn't give a shit about us, and especially doesn't care to sort the tiny specs of energy that we contain to a "good" place or a "bad" place. Lol, we're just energy...nothing about our energy will be concieous of its existance once the part of your body, the material brain, that houses concieousnes, ceases to have energy flowing through it. It's funny to argue about, but absolutely mind blowing that grown men and women actually concern themselves with a heaven or hell. Ridiculous!

I suspect he just made it up.

And why not.

The rest of his religion is made up anyway.

The bible teach.
(Say it again In you best Mr. Miagi/Pat Morita not Jackie Chan voice)

More specifically Jesus Teach in Mat 10: 28 “Don’t be afraid of people. They can kill the body, but they cannot kill the soul. The only one you should fear is God, the one who can send the body and the soul to be destroyed in hell.

The body being refered to is the resurected/eternal body you will receive just before your judgement. This body and the soul it contains will be cast into Hell to be destroyed/killed the word in the greek is: ἀπόλλυμι apollymi it means to kill or obliterate. as apposed to:ἀποκτείνω/apokteinō which is translated kill. As one who can Kill or ἀποκτείνω/apokteinō (Inflict a mortal death) to the body.

Wow, you seriously have never read or even heard what Jesus said in Mt 10?

This is why your understanding of God/Religion does not work. You goto Church and church/religion tells you about God. When you find that what religion told you was wrong, you foolishly assume that God can not exist. Why? Because most are too lazy to seperate and ignore the stuff religion says about God that is not biblically supported. Most want someone else to do all of the heavy intelectual lifting, predigest the whole bible and give you everything you need to know about God in bite size peices. There is so much lost when you need to be bottle fed everything by someone else. God is not flawed Religion is. Your understanding of Hell is flawed because it is all based on the teaching of the R/C church, which bases it's teachings not in the bible but on the works of Dante which based his 'divine comedy' partially on the bible and partially in greek myth. But you do not know any of that because you have been conditioned to accept all information as truth, when at best any information or any teaching is just fact. (A statement that can be either true or false.)
