If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!
Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite. Dead wrong. The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment. Quote:Some people deserve hell. I say again: No exceptions. Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it. As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong. I ain't fallin' for no banana in my tail pipe! I'm guessing zero, and it would take a lot of examples of this for me to ever accept the idea that a god communicates directly to anybody. Seems as though he has this tendency to communicate only with those who have already been, at the very least, culturally exposed to the religion (usually right from birth). This has to be one of the stupidest posts ever. You've never heard a christian proclaim that the truth of god is written in the hearts of all men? Never had someone assert by fiat that it's self evident? Or you just can't see how Ryan's post shows a pretty major problem with it? Maybe you've mistaken contempt and a dismissive attitude as a counterargument?

At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'
Stupid in the most basic usage of the term stupid. That's how. Nothing complex. Smack your head on the desk stupid.
In the case of apophenia's post, "you hit 2 with one shot there..."
