What's wrong with being who I am instead of who you think I should be?

If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!

I don't see it as being a concerted effort to do anything, just that this is one area of life where religion doesn't assert quite as strong a social influence anymore, mainly because we now live in a global world where you can't just rely on everyone who views your film/tv show/ morse code message is going to have the same ideology, and... well, people get pissy about religion, and controversy sells. @ Esq I think there's little understanding of religion and these are more than parody. People really think those things. Or are you saying all of what Min comes of with are really jokes? You guys are serious about your objections, and so are the comments on shows like the Simpsons. In the UK I don't think there's the interest left to parody. in the US yes, it's still there in all its stupid glory. Nothing wrong with parody no, I'm all for that. I think I'd go nuts if I were an American without it.
