RE: Would you ever cheat in a relationship?

I'll admit I cheated on a boyfriend when I was 17... I wanted to end the relationship, couldn't figure out how, and cheated... It led to many more problems than I anticipated, I thought it would simply cause a breakup... Wouldn't do it again, too much of a headache dealing with the fallout.
Would I cheat in my current relationship? Nope. I love and respect my husband too much to hurt him like that. If I was tempted to stray, I know enough now to examine what I'm missing from my marriage, and ask for it. If I can't get it from my marriage, that's one issue, but I'd still end the relationship before I cheated.

My experience: Cheating is overrated... It totally backfired... The guys started fighting (I didn't want to be with either of them)... Way too much drama for me. And the sex wasn't even good, I felt too guilty to enjoy it. Never again. I've discovered I prefer the quiet life.

I don't care if it is "normal" or not. To me it comes down to not wanting to hurt someone I care very deeply about. I know my husband would be hurt if I cheated, and I don't like to do things that purposefully hurt others. Sometimes it can't be avoided, but cheating is totally avoidable.
