I'm a human, and humans are social animals. Is social proof evil now? do you think language and bipedal locomotion are evil too?

Humans are social animals and all social animals follow rules.
One of the rules of our society is that if you barge past people then you are an arsehole.

Yesterday, some student and her friends complained that I pushed her. so she told the security, and some student services manager asked me why i did this. i gave an account, but the truth is that she stood in my way as I was wishing to pass, so she deserved to get "pushed". i was told not to "touch" anybody again, meh, rules may be superfluous, but i guess many things exist in the human sphere that don't have firm/absolute grounding.

the point is though, this is denial in a literal sense. But the same applies in a figurative context also. Who says we cannot do as we please to persons who deny what we want? most deny me normal knowledge, when it's patently clear that this exists. if it doesn't, then account for the fact that most in the world now Paris is in France. yeah, that's not common.

i don't see why people who deny others things cannot be locked in a life dungeon.

I really hope someone punches you in the face the next time you do that. And you fall on the floor hit your head, shit yourself and die.

lol. i've seen you post about how morals are tenuous. admit it, this is how contemporary society thinks/reasons.

Why are you acting like you are out of a star trek episode and have only just encountered human empathy? You're not one of the borg, or a robot, or Patrick Bateman.

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.

Impersonation is treason.

Empathy can be overcome by ideas.

Put a someone in the right setting or give them religion or a sufficiently strong political view and they can overcome it.

Then of course some people are just natural shits.

I have a feeling you may be the latter.

Where did I post that morals are tenuous?

Just because of these two quotes I think you're actually a muslim but pretending to be an atheist, that's just my theory.
I suspected this before but the talk of Syria and western culture just makes me suspect it more.
No one else I know says things like "well I have no morals so I pushed a girl today and lied about it".

I could be wrong.

eh? i was born in the late 70s. i lived most of my life in the UK. and I've been an atheist for about 10 years despite being raised Christian.

You all cited empathy, and I said who cares since empathy is not universal, using Syria and its civil war as an example.

Admit it, generation x/y (,i.e. my generation) believes in transitory morals which our forebears did not. we generally reject absolutes in most, if not all, forms. Moreover, we DO say we hold full prerogative to form our personal ethics. Look at the thread in the philosophy forum about that, and you'd see all of us cited how our morals are formed.

A "muslim" nor any other Abrahamic believer cannot believe in personal morals, since God is supreme to them and he dictates all phenomenon.

So then empathy is not universal.

yet nobody can answer that society in contemporary times stresses a personal moral system? or are you suggesting the belief in moral absolutes return?

lol..

most men my age merely determine their personal morals and act accordingly.

Golden rule: One should treat others as one would like others to treat oneself.

Silver rule: One should not treat others in ways that one would not like to be treated

Do you really want to hear it from your father how it feels to fuck your mother?

Some information should just be off limits. Leave it be.

lol.. I interpret the latter point to be "how somebody lives his life intimidates me, so let's deny him!!!!!!!" you still haven't answered my query. who gets to "portion out" knowledge?

where does this right stem from? and why must others respect this right? we all know nobody per se has to respect the rights of another.
