The question that should be asked is: Why wouldn't God infuse his most important messages of love, sacrifice, betrayal, reconciliation and redemption in the human mind? Are they not the clues that Romans 1:20 predicts?

Only an unigaginative and non-curious mind could find comfort in the mesage of Romans 1:20.

Barry White had a hit with 'Love Theme'. What happened to Sacrifice Theme, Betrayal Theme, Reconciliation Theme, or Redemption Theme? Perhaps those messages weren't so important.

RE: Excavating The Empty Tomb
For godsakes could a Christian at least give a fuck enough about the whole "debate" idea to add some new subject matter into their
repertoire and watch the fucking video already? Then at least we'd be talking about something.
Jesus H Christ it's been like 6 pages already.

Fucking Hell.
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!

Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.

Dead wrong.  The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.

Quote:Some people deserve hell.

I say again:  No exceptions.  Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it.  As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.

Since it is a bunch of nonsense - why bother discussing it

THe reason why the story is nonsense is because the christ is a MYTH - and cannot be proven to have lived

THe idea that a MYTH had a real tomb is nonsense

The Gospel stories are bullshit.

That's pretty much as brief a summary as I can offer, so you probably don't want to watch these videos. You might learn something and drop your faith.

To go into greater detail: The video series discusses all the ways the Gospel stories contradict each other, how they were changed over time, how they don't fit with history, why the alleged authors are not "reliable eye-witnesses", what this-or-that Koine Greek word actually means, etc. The author is clearly versed in both ancient Greek and what the earliest copies of scripture say as well in the ancient history in which Christianity was born.

Don't watch the videos. Just close your eyes, stick your fingers in your ears and keep humming "Jesus loves me, this I know" really loudly.

You mean "waste", not "waist". You can't "waist time" because waist is a noun, not a verb. You also forgot to put apostrophes on your contraction. IT'S an important thing to pay attention to when YOU'RE using contractions. You need to use proper grammar or people might think you're stupid or something.

He didn't say he hasn't watched any of them. He said he hasn't watched ALL of them yet. There are a lot of videos in this series. He has said he's watched the ones he's posted.

And don't compare this video series to Zeitgeist (proper spelling of that word, btw). Zeitgeist is crap. This series is professionally done.

Personally, I viewed the entire series (gotta love late night viewing and a bottle of red) and found it informative, interesting (from the point of information I had not considered) but frustratingly chopped up into 12-15 minute bytes. Along the lines of "The Bible Unearthed" I would recommend it to any person who is seriously interested in just why atheists hold their position.

DeistPaladin: Drich has a physical impairment from my understanding. He definitely isn't stupid. Spellcheck I do to my own posts and highly recommend it, but some people don't wanna. He don't wanna. Big Grin hopefully he do wanna watch that them there video so we can understand why he believes what he believes in spite of evidence that leads us to polar opposite conclusions.

RE: Excavating The Empty Tomb
Well, there were considerably more than 16 videos because of the multiple letters assigned and it really does take some time to wade through because unlike the xtian shitballs who pull this routine...

there are enough facts provided to warrant some fact-checking as noted before. After a while, when his observations had been shown correct time and again I stopped bothering. It is so rare to be given facts in any kind of religious discussion. Facts are not a big deal to jesus freaks.

The Odyssey link remains the most problematic because we simply cannot know of the extent to which Homeric imagery was re-cycled in ancient literature because most ancient literature was destroyed by gangs of xtian thugs egged on by their fucking "bishops." Again, we are dealing with a very limited class of people capable of reading complex literature.

Much of the rest remains solidly based on other scholarship and the whole Chrestus/Christus thing needs further exploration.

The blow-by-blow dismantling of the gospel accounts of the "empty tomb" remains far more compelling than the Homeric analogy. He does an excellent job on those.

I watched in horror in Part XVIII as these jesus camp scumbags played their resurrection games on children but I must admit that I can see assholes like G-C and Drippy jerking off to the whole sick episode. Proof, if any more were needed that religion is little more than child abuse.

Overall, I give it a B+.

In particular the fat lady who ran the whole operation and how she preys upon kids. Did you see how she approaches those kids in the hall at the beginning of the movie? She's like a child molester only she doesn't mess with them physically; she just molests their minds.

Not true. Christ is well documented in Historical texts. The only thing is, non believers simply classify anything that describes or tells of Christ has a 'religious' document, and it is dismissed.
There are hundreds of non bible documents in the Vatican libary that are not cannonical books of the bible that no one will look at because they just assume everything is a religious text.

It takes way too much blind faith to say Jesus never existed for me to accept.
