In any case... I find it delightful. These guy meet my needs. Big Grin

What would you recommend (for a low budget)?

Nothing wrong with Stella - just not my thing. Big Grin Mostly just messin' with ya. It's my thing (messing with people, that is). Pay me no mind.

My daily drinking beer is usually Black Butte Porter, Mirror Pond Pale, Moose Drool, or Dead Guy Ale.

No idea what's available in your neck of the woods, though. Deschutes Brewery (the first two) claims to stock at Albertsons, CVS, and Wal-Mart there.

At the pub, hmmm, depends on what's on tap. Too many to choose from! 50 taps, 40+ of them rotating, I rarely have the same thing twice in a row.

I will be sure to try something out! Big Grin
I usually stick to my faves because everywhere I go around here has the same beer. They just have all the "lites" and a few others. My friends (the men) all drink Budlight. Fuck no. And the girls drink girly drinks that I don't care for. Stella meets my needs, but they don't have it in every bar. Heineken is popular, so I find it anywhere. Indio is my guilty pleasure. Indio makes me feel dirty and very relaxed. I drink that when I'm feeling boyish Cool Shades

Wine, on the other hand. I won't have it. I'm cheap like that.Thinking

I think we're spoiled here. Many grocery stores carry 100+ brands, and most pubs have a dozen or more good beers on tap, with some having dozens or more. There's a bottle shop in Portland that has 1100+ varieties in stock.

If I want something like that, I have to go to San Diego or Phoenix.

Wine is my guilty anti-pleasure. lol I wish I liked it, I just don't.

It seems to be very much an acquired taste. What got me hooked was pairing it with cheese and food.

Go get yourself some of this.

Oh! Oh! I LOVE cheese! lol

and bacon.

But back to the wine. To me, wine is so complicated, I don't know where to start. I'm ignorant about it so much. I went to a wine tasting event once and even though I didn't swallow it I still felt oozy. Hats off, dreamer. Hats off.

Oh... oh, no... if you like beer... you can't, just can't make Stella your favorite.

Ivy, next time you're coming around, I swear... I'll make you a beer lover, and I promise Stella Artois will be in your headlights.

If it says Thunderbird or Ripple or comes in a cardboard box, put it down.
If it says "Product of California" use it to pour on fires.

If it says imported from France or Italy it is safe to drink.
