what is god actually

RE: what is god actually
Isnt the most important attribute of God is omnipotence? If time is omnipotent, on what logic we can exclude the other three dimensions? In an expanding 4D universe, the spatial dimensions are directly proportionate with time, isnt it? Why should one of them have more importance than the other? Or is it a "quartinity" kind of neo-Christian concept?

I briefly skimmed over an interesting book written by Paul Davies that made an interesting point about God and time.

If time has no beginning then that implies that the universe has existed infinitely, or an infinite period of time. But mathematically that would mean that all events that could have possibly occurred, would have. If time never began nor ended then at what point do we come into existence on the timeline?

Pretend you have a vinyl. Simple. Now imagine you have a song that never ends or begins. Its a continuous song or a continuous loop. Now try and imagine that song is recorded physically onto the vinyl. An infinite track onto a finite space. Imagine that the vinyl can be spun continuously uninterrupted and hence the song can be played continuously with no break. Pretty tricky isn't it? Lastly, pretend you had the needle and you wanted to listen to the song from the start. Where do you put the needle?

An interesting topic.

Where do you put the needle? As far back as you possibly can! It it's been playing since forever, there is no beginning!

To me, "time" is a man-made concept created for measurement of progression. It doesn't actually "exist" per se.

That's what I said. Adrian says it exists. But I don't see how can it exist? Is it something that can exist? Where is it then? If it's not something then it's nothing. In what sense is it something that can exist?? It exists as a concept of measurement as far as I know, as you said. So is "exist" really the right word?

Maybe it should be that the concept of time is what exists.

Yes. It exists as a concept. But so does the idea of God! But God (almost certainly) doesn't exist!

I was under the impression that the concept of time was what was implied and not the measurement per se.

A straight forward question: What happened before the big bang?

We don't know. Time did not exist, we don't have a way of finding out, at least for now.

Exactly. Nobody has the answer to that question, at least not now. It is one of the great mysteries of the world.

I believe even before the big bang, the universe in one way or another existed and earth and its inhabitants are a by-product of various exchanges that occurred chemically and/or in other means. This is just my speculation.
