Yes, Yes indeed.
Those books did more damage than the "Just Say No" assholes claimed all that "smoking" I was doing in high school did.
I could go on and on about why those books are awful (character-wise, plot-wise, social-commentary-wise, etc.) but I'm pleased to report my memory of them has faded significantly enough that I can't even remember all my gripes about it.
Although I did get into some lengthy rant sessions on another forum so I'm sure I could go dig those up and link them
Basically, the lesson I took away from the Twilight books was: Romance novels, especially YA romance novels, are SOOOOO not my thing. And never again read anything Stephanie Meyer has written (or any books that stem from the fanfiction of said works)
Teenaged X-Files obsession + Bermuda Triangle episode + Self-led school research project = Atheist.

'Lucy'. Hugely disappointing. Luc Beeson had a terrific idea, and no idea what to do with it.

Currently watching
The Wicker Tree, the loose follow-up to the classic The Wicker Man - the one with 100% more Christoper Lee and 0% Nick Cage. I'm not expecting it to be anywhere close to as good as that original, in fact going by reviews I'm prepared for disappointment, although I'm trying to view it on its own terms (I don't do presup). Its working title was "Cowboys For Christ", which sort of gives away the plot.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

Hopefully the "cowboys for Christ" are the ones being sacrificed.
I REFUSED to see the remake with cage.
Dislike his movies anyway but...
