"Extraterrestrial" Moral: Don't kill greys.
Blade Runner 2049 .. a movie that disappointed me
Kingsman: The Golden Circle ... quite a nice movie, besides I like Colin Firth Murder on the Orient Express ... weird and Poirot a bit exaggerated character, and Kenneth Branagh i like him, but as Poirot...neee
"Alone is what I have. Alone protects me."
“I may be on the side of the angels but don’t think for one second that I am one of them.” “The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existence. One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little of this mystery each day."
Poirot's super-exaggerated in the books involving him, so it's certainly true to the source material, if a bit silly.
We watched Peter Rabbit a few days ago and loved it. Apparently, people are all pissed because there's a joke about food allergies in it. I guess they didn't get the memo that it's just a fucking movie.
Cactus Flower (1969). Quintessential 60's movie, good watch. In the record store scene a guy asked if they were still selling an album in mono.

Last movie seen in theaters - Three Billboards outside Ebbing, Missouri. Even ignoring the quality of the film (which is excellent, by the way), this is essential viewing, especially for anyone who gives a crap about justice. On some level, everyone is right, and everyone is spectacularly wrong. Really, if there's any current political issue involving justice, this film will resonate with it. Honestly, I feel like I should create a big curriculum of books and films that help create a brutally honest picture of justice, ranging from The Oresteia to this film.
Last movie seen and finished - Apt Pupil. Overall, it's a pretty good movie. Fun fact: in the hours before graduating from High School, I watched this on Youtube (because my local library doesn't have a copy of the DVD). It's not without its flaws, like the fact that Ian McKellen retains his German accent, even when he's supposed to be passing for an American named Arthur Denker, and the fact that Todd's character arc was more than a little compromised by the film's content being watered down, including removing the ending where Todd goes completely berserk after being exposed, culminating in a 5-hour shooting spree. Movie currently watching - Wonder Woman. It's actually a pretty good film.
Comparing the Universal Oneness of All Life to Yo Mama since 2010.
I was born with the gift of laughter and a sense the world is mad.
I started watching exodus gods and kings but gave up after about 40 minutes. What an awful film it is. The plot makes no sense at all.
You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid. Tinkety Tonk and down with the Nazis.
Solomon Kane. Awful piece of sophomoronic dreck. Purefoy looked the part, but that was about it. The film had precious little to do with the character from the stories, nothing about Africa (where many of Kane's best adventures took place), the Staff, Kane's hatred of evil for evil's sake - nothing.
Granted, Howard didn't give Solomon Kane much of a back story, but that was a big part of the attraction of the character - a mysterious, fanatical anti-hero. I'll give the filmmaker's some credit, though - it must have taken a tremendous, concerted effort to ruin a film when you've got Pete Postlethwaite, Max von Sydow, and Alice Krige to work with. Boru
