edit - If Sam Elliott was in the background reading the phone book you wouldn't be able to wipe the smile off my face for weeks.
My missus has a thing for Sam Elliott as well. Says he's one of the few men in the world who can call a woman 'darlin' and not make it sound condescending.

My southern country husband has a deep voice and a drawl. I have seen women get all glassy-eyed when he calls them 'hon' or 'sweetie'.

The best lead up to a bar fight - ever - would be trash talk between Sam Elliot and Mike Tyson......
I' d pay good money to see that........

The Midnight Meat Train (2008)
I had higher hopes for this. After all, it's based on a pretty good Clive Barker story. But it felt like a film I've seen a hundred times, done better. Guy pushed by ambition to cross his own boundaries and ends up getting caught up in something supernatural and even Eldritch. Except this film felt so rushed that it felt less like he was falling into this thing and more like he always was that way. Like, if you want me to notice the contrast of before and after, your progression from light to dark has to be more progressive. I always get the impression, in every film I've seen him in, that Bradley Cooper is really intense and he's playing it really intense. He's got that stare...
Less creepy or moving and more "stuff happens and then characters do this" type movie.

Factoid from one of the earliest movies that made me shit my pants as a kid was from Jaws 1 and 2.
I didn't know that the mechanical shark was given the nick name "Bruce". I was watching a documentary on the making of the first one, and because of the salt water, they kept having it break down. So much so, because they increasingly went over budget, the director decided to use music, implication and camera angles to imply.
The scene that scared the shit out of me the most was in Jaws 1 was when Jaws slammed the back of the Orca, slammed the back of the boat and Quint couldn't hang on, and slid down into the shark's mouth and got bitten in half and drug down into the water. Point of the post is that I didn't know they gave the mechanical shark the nickname "Bruce".

They are on rotation a buttload.
If if it isn't Maddow, or Big Bang, it is Jaws.

That’s pretty limited, but doesn’t answer my question (not that I’m surprised).
