Vantage Point https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vantage_Point_(film)

A clever premise that turns dumb really fast, with more twists and turns than a rally circuit. Gaping holes in the plotline, hilarious unexplained incidents, and Shatnerian overacting made this thriller a laugher. It was so bad that I couldn't stop watching.

The Lineup (1958) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Lineup_(film)

A crime procedural where Eli Wallach stars as a psychopath. Innovative macguffins that were copied many times over, classic noir camera work, gritty police procedures and a body count. It shows the penchant for overacting of the time but a fun 90 minute romp through the seediness of the 1950's heroin smuggling trade.

The Dark Past (1948) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Dark_Past

A police psychiatrist (Lee J Cobb) tells a frame story to a colleague about his experience being held hostage by a criminal psychopath (William Holden) and how the human mind can be redeemable if one is receptive to psychoanalysis. It felt longer than its 74 minute run time as the exposition about psychoanalysis took far too long (in context, though, an audience in 1948 may have needed the detailed exposition). The camera work by Joseph Walker is the real star, using subjective camera and uncomfortable angled shots to build tension. A must see for cinematography nerds and noir aficionados.

Demonic, a film produced in 2014 by Jame Wan. It's not your typical haunted house movie, it was pretty good. If you like horror films, check it out.
