No..no it isn't..they actually want those "bad apples". I'll try to dig up an old link about departmental hiring bias that went over a multitude of screening procedures and metrics used by various depts nationwide. They're not getting them by mistake, they're actively courting them...and in fact prefer them.

Some people like to use the argument that either not all cops are bad or that the majority of them are good. Yet, so often the really out of control cops get to keep their job and rarely held accountable for misconduct. I find this sickening as well.

Yeah, I read that story and it immediately sprung to my mind that "altercation" probably meant that someone fucking panicked...like a person might.......while they're being rescued from high water. Is their story actually that two brothers got into a fight...surrounded by floodwater, and that shooting one of them appeared to be the most prudent course of action?
I've pulled people out of the water, and I've seen them pull each other under grasping for help - hit each other in the face when they try to break loose (because they're drowning each other but neither sees that in the moment). Never occurred to me that shooting one of them would solve the problem, or..if it would...that this was an acceptable solution. Guess I'm not cop material?
