I just half amazed that they acted at all!
My now former employer outright stated that they have a "team" devoted to snooping on employee's social media. It was actually brought up on a review. Cabelas is a christian company, and they were concerned with my activity.
That figures....with all the fucking guns they sell.
How about this one.

Right. I'm sure they gave a shit about the kids.

Things have gotten really crazy with stupid cases of "neglect" of children. People today should watch the old TV show Leave it to Beaver and see what was considered right and proper for dealing with children circa 1960. The parents in that show let their children play on their own outside, which helps them learn to be independent. The parents in that show, who are actually pretty good parents, would be arrested for neglect in modern America. People today are fucking crazy when it comes to children.

Yeah but in fairness there are a lot of catholic priests running around loose so you have to take precautions.
I'm not sure where this insane notion that kids have to be within arms' reach at all times came from. There was an incident not too long ago where a couple was arrested because they let their kids walk to and from a park BY THEMSELVES.
No wonder so many kids are growing up to be neurotic little fuckheads. They aren't paranoid. They ARE always being watched.

A parent's job is not merely to keep one's children safe, but to also prepare them for life without parents. Watching them all the time so very closely is not a good preparation for adult life. But being a good parent these days (in the U.S.) can get you thrown in jail and have your children taken away from you. We truly live in a madhouse.

From kids like mine. My 4 year old son crushed the canopy of my sedan this morning with -just- his feet in a couple minutes of unsupervised fun. The interior light was below the level of the front seat headrests....
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. 4 is a bit young to leave unsupervised. If you want good advice on this, just watch Leave it to Beaver. Just remember, being a good parent will not keep you out of jail, nor will it keep the authorities from taking your children away from you. Good luck!

I would think leaving them alone with an older child wouldn't be too bad

He was with -5- older children at the time. 2 of mine, 3 of the neighbors. They couldn't have done anything about it. He just scrambled up there and started jumping, apparently. "Unsupervised" in my house, btw, a malleable word. He was maybe 20 feet from 3 adults at the time. They just didn't have their eyes drilled down on him - even though I'm constantly warning people not to turn their back on my son if they value their lives or his.
I was impressed too, btw. Took me a half an hour of going gorilla to hammer it back out.
(20 minutes or so ago, he pissed on my blanket..I guess he just likes to turn the knife)

That's the point where you break out the belt. Not that people won't call the police nowadays after a spanking.
