Evidence that Jesus was real?

Evidence that Jesus was real?
I was perusing Google news and I came across this article. The main point of my posting this is not the premise of the article itself, but rather part of what was written in the article.

Quote:Attacks on Christianity have come from many directions. Some people assert that Christianity is based on a mythological or legendary figure: Jesus of Nazareth, Jesus the anointed one, Jesus Christ. The historical Jesus Christ has more evidence for His existence than many other figures from the ancient world whose existence we take for granted. What we know of Socrates we learn from the writings of one disciple, Plato, and from a play by Aristophanes. Yet the evidence is strong that there really was an Athenian philosopher names Socrates, almost as strong as that there was a Jesus Christ.

There is no "evidence" for a historical jesus. There is only the later and heavily edited drivel of believers.

That ain't worth shit.

I will admit I have always been divided on the historical stance of whether a figure named Jesus did exist in the past. If a historical figure named Jesus was real, it is apparent he was not the divine son of god. If he was real, he was merely a man with a few pretty words and tricks up his sleeves, a man whom society over-embellished to sell a new religion to the people.

Saying "oh yeah he existed" isn't evidence that he existed. When you challenge that, people say, "wha...he just existed! Everyone agrees he existed!" but if you try to get proof out of them they just keep saying, "Everyone says he existed!"

I guess I can use this topic as a continuation of my last topic on Jesus' existence: the body of St. Peter. Does that help prove Jesus existed?

When you start looking into the question you find scholars like Bart Ehrman who insist that there was some schlepper named jesus but who then dismisses all the miracle shit and re-casts him as an apocalyptic prophet. The problem is that there is no evidence for that either and even the fairy tales created around this character insist he was a miracle-working son-of-a-bitch er, god.

So Ehrman has no evidence at all for his position and then he tries to use the gospels and epistles to back him up but these are the very documents that he has spent the last twenty years showing us are a load of crap.

The mind of a xtian is an amazing place to explore. All of them really are batshit crazy.

Anyone see Nik Wallenda walk across a wire over the Grand Canyon? The whole way across he kept praising "Jesus" and "God". When the wire started to shake a little he asked "God" to stop the wire from moving. When it did he praised this deity for his help. It was an impressive feat to watch, but I got sick of hearing him praise "Jesus" every five seconds. It got to the point where I was actually hoping he would fall into the canyon so I wouldn't have to listen to his stupid shit anymore.
Science flies us to the moon and stars. Religion flies us into buildings.

God allowed 200,000 people to die in an earthquake. So what makes you think he cares about YOUR problems?

I heard him interviewed last night on the news and he mentioned the fact that the cable started to "build up a wave." Had he allowed it to continue it would have "thrown him off." He knew enough to stop to let it settle down.

Had nothing to do with fucking jesus but, the dolts love hearing about their godboy so he gives them what they want.

God is such an asshole. He saves one fucking idiot doing something completely moronic for no good reason but to impress chicks while at the same time He in his infinite wisdom lets millions of completely innocent people starve in Africa. What a dick Angry

Of course, the Washington Times is going to say that. That "newspaper" is basically a written medium of Rush Limbaugh's radio show. There is no evidence Jesus Christ ever existed. All we have are paintings and drawings of him.

Also, how on earth can a man rise from the dead? That is biologically impossible.
