Attn: Theists - What would it take to prove you wrong?
RE: Attn: Theists - What would it take to prove you wrong?
The difference is that although I eat lasagna I have no desire to shove it down your throat. But those damn spaghetti eaters just keep on and on at me!!

And the beautiful thing about it is, is that that might just be how the spaghetti eaters find meaning in their life, by trying to persuade the lasagna eaters to convert.

The lasagna eaters like pointing out how nasty spaghtetti is and the spaghtetti eaters like pointing out how spaghetti is more nutritious.

Ultimately, it is all opinion and neither are better or worse off for living according to what they find meaningful. Speaking atheistically of course.

But I would never tell you how nasty spaghetti is. Why would you assume I would. Speaking as a person of course!

That is great! And I appreciate it.

But ultimately, speaking atheistically, the Christian is no better or worse off than the atheist because they both die and are no more and while they live, they both determine what is meaningful to them because they are the ones that determine what is meaningful.

One finds meaning in life by living according to ©, and another finds meaning in life according to (A).

Both © and (A) are simply preferences or opinions of homo sapiens who are what they are because nature determined they should be that way by giving them a certain physiology. The Christian and the atheist are fundamentally the same. There might be an ever so slight variation somewhere in their brain or cerebral cortex which causes them to be more prone to believing in God than the atheist, but they both are simply a collocation of atoms arranged homo sapien wise.

They live for a moment and then die, to be replaced by others that come after them who too will die in a cycle until the world itself ceases to exist.

I understand that you think I am a bigot. And believe me, I want you to know that you are entitled to believe that. Many may feel the same way. Many may agree with you.

Many will disagree with you.

But looking at it from where I sit and assuming for the moment no God exists to judge us or hold us ultimately accountable for our actions, and since we ourselves determine what is meaningful, the bigot may find meaning in life by being a bigot, while you on the other hand find meaning in life by being kind and understanding.

Both you and the bigot, however, are simply dancing to your DNA. The tune is played and we act. No one is either above us or beneath us. No one ultimately better or worse off than we.

Supporting the bigot in his wrongness does not make bigotry acceptable.

Many may agree with you and that is awesome!

But think deeply about it....

Some may think being a bigot is wrong....sure....

Some may agree with you.

Some may think being a bigot is just the best thing to be in the world!

Some may enjoy picking at people and making fun of people. It in fact is done a lot nowadays. It might make them feel good about themselves. And since such a person determines what is meaningful and good in their life, then they are simply living how they think they should spend the few years given to them by nature.

What is acceptable is completely determined by each individual. One may think it acceptable to lie and steal so long as they do not get caught. You may think it unacceptable.

Ultimately, you are neither better or worse of than they.

Yes, I am better than the bigot. I am also better than the murderer whom you support in his desire to kill.

I know precisely what point you are attempting to make, veiling it beneath the poor disguise of madly conceived notion of atheistic morality, and of course you would be as erroneous in your falsities as others who have come before you.

Well of course you think you are better than the bigot. That is your opinion. Nor have I ever argued that you are not better than the bigot. I cannot argue that because "better" is a completely relative term.

What I have stated is that ultimately you and the bigot die and therefore are no better or worse off than the bigot. Death here, for the two of you is the great equalizer. Not only that, but your birth which was due to natural processes acting upon matter with no superintendence make you and the bigot fundamentally the same. You and he differ not unlike you differ from the man who loves Pringles chips while your prefer Frito Lay chips. You differ in your preferences and have different opinions. To that existent you are different, otherwise, you and he are homo sapiens who live to find your own meaning and purpose in this short duration you exist.

There are sundry opinions regarding what atheistic morality is. Some are objectivists like Harris, some are relativists.

Ultimately not even this matters because they are simply living according to their preferences. Neither one is ultimately better or worse off than the other.

Yeah - right up until the spaghetti eaters take over the statehouse in fucking Texas and try to ban lasagna because it is against some ludicrous "god's" will.

That's when you people pass from mildly annoying to major pains in the ass.
