 The Feynmann Lectures on Physics pops to mind, for some reason... Jurassic Park, too...  And the Silmarillion... oh my head is acting crazy! 
This is an absolutely terrific thread. Not because of the books suggested, but because atheists actually suggest reading books.

Also, read Ragtime. It's not related to science or atheism, it's just a fantastic novel.

Hmm. So called "Atheist" books are really misnomers. Atheism is ultimately, "there's no fucking god...grow up already."
What Hitchins and Dawkins wrote were books about why religion is totally fucking stupid. And I don't think it is possible to get too many books on that subject.[/quote] RE: Atheism books/authors?

For years, they wouldn't let me anywhere near the Harry Potter books, either, because someone at church told them that they encouraged kids to practice witchcraft. (To their credit, they finally changed their minds about it and decided that that churchgoer was stupid. Now they love the series as much as I do.) |
