You will find that is the monotheistic and triune God of Christianity. Mormons believe in a man who became God not a God who became a man. Mormonism may as well be the exact polar opposite of Christianity, it's the anti-Christianity more or less.
So?

Seriously, take god and Jesus out of the equation for a moment, and tell me why Mormonism is bogus from a purely secular standpoint.
You can use the all the same arguments against Mormonism that you can use against atheism if they don't believe in an eternal uncreated God as the Bible originally stated. If it's a powerful guy with a beard in space like Zeus then that is not God. If you ever see God depicted that way it's metaphorical not literal.
Plus you can use all same arguments you yourself would use regarding Joesph Smiths dubious character, the fact that it's based 100% on everything just one man claimed. The events in the Bible involved communities and groups of people taking part in miraculous events all together at once. Rather than just one charismatic man saying something and then everyone believing it. You can point this fact out with most of the other revealed religions including Islam. It' worth pointing out that very few people believed Jesus to be the Jewish Messiah during his life time and even his own brothers thought he was nuts.
Also if Jews ever reached America apparently they forgot how to make iron weapons/tools and the somehow forgot all about the wheel. Native American didn't have wheels and at best they could make bronze though for the most part all their tools and weapons were made from stone.
Come all ye faithful joyful and triumphant.

Have we reached that awkward stage where meaningful debate becomes impossible, and the pointing and laughing begins in earnest yet?

An entirely alternative one that has nothing much to do with the Jesus of the Bible. God did not come from outer space to have sex with the virgin Mary to provide his son with a physical body on Earth. There concept of God is something like Zeus that's not God.
Wait.
Don't the Jews claim that same thing about the NT?
Do I detect a bit of special pleading here?
You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.

It's his favorite card to play.
SoC, you still haven't explained why Mormonism is wrong from a non-religious stand point. Also, the way you think I debunk it is not at all accurate. Please don't presume to think for other people.

Cut him some slack, Sparty...apparently thinking for himself ain't gonna happen, so let him live vicariously...

I was asking Sword Of Christ there sorry.
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!

Dead wrong. The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.

I say again: No exceptions. Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it. As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.

It's okay, but I don't think he's going to answer your question. He has a knack for avoiding tough questions, the answers for which put him in tough places.

Especially the thorniest question of all.
"What is your evidence?"

Well I thought I'd give him an easy one. I wonder if he would've dared post that southpark mormon breakdown on his Facebook last election?
