Why do religious people log onto this site?

RE: Why do religious people log onto this site?
G-C thinks we are going to take his word for it. He has less credibility than Bush did on Iraq.

1. They are questioning their own beliefs.

2. They were shunned by their own-kind and they are now seeking refuge.

3. They are inebriated and thinking more clearly.

4. There is hope in their hearts that they will actually find someone to brain-wash? A stupid atheist? What has a better chance of existing? A god or a dumb atheist?

5. To quote the bible to us, because their own kids think that they are completely insane.

6. Looking for an intelligent conversation after the lame sermon they just experienced. Too bad it takes two to tongue-tangle.

7. They cannot afford the cover-charge at their local church.

Hi non-atheists, why do you log-on to atheistforums.org?

Thanks and please take care.
I mostly just like to argue.

RE: Why do religious people log onto this site?
this website sure has taught me a lot in sticking up for myself in my personal life. I'm not an arguer but sometimes in life we end up arguing with people, and boy howdy am I happy with my ability to make a point now! Big Grin
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!

Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.

Dead wrong.  The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.

Quote:Some people deserve hell.

I say again:  No exceptions.  Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it.  As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.

I'm guessing as an intellectual exercise. Although if I were to characterize that exercise I'd call it 'running in place.'

I'm not an atheist and I think my reasons are 1-7.

Just kidding.

Actually I was thinking of something and wondered how atheists would answer it so I began looking for an atheist message board. I liked this board because there seem to be some posters on here who don't back up their arguments with foul language and insults. (Feel free to swear at me and insult me; more brownie points for me. ; )
