There is definitely something disturbing about it, but I'm wondering where it will ultimately lead.

Why don't they pray: "Please god, show yourself, so I don't keep making a fool of myself!"

You mean they don't?

Probably because for some of them, if they suddenly stopped being idiotic, obnoxious and egocentric, they wouldn't have any character traits at all.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Cuntfish,

I've already given you proof that the bible says eternal when referring to hell. If everyone in your religion but you believes in it, that's not my fault.

To quote your own brethren,

Christian Apologetics and Research Ministry Wrote:"Thus says the Lord" occurs over 400 times in the Old Testament.
"God said" occurs 42 times in the Old Testament and four times in the New Testament.
"God spoke" occurs 9 times in the Old Testament and 3 times in the New Testament.
"The Spirit of the Lord spoke" through people in 2 Sam. 23:2; 1 Kings 22:24; 2 Chron. 20:14.

Luke 24:44-45, "Now He said to them, 'These are My words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things which are written about Me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.' 45 Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures. "

Notice that Jesus speaks about what is written regarding him in the Old Testament. Then Luke writes that Jesus opened their mind to understand the Scriptures. What Scriptures? The Law (Moses), the Prophets, and the Psalms. This was a common designation for the Old Testament. Therefore, Jesus says that the written form of the Old Testament is Scripture.

Matt 15:6, "he is not to honor his father or his mother. And thus you invalidated the word of God for the sake of your tradition."
Mark 7:13, "thus invalidating the word of God by your tradition which you have handed down; and you do many things such as that.”
John 10:35 “If he called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be broken)."

Jesus never said the scriptures contain the word of God. He said they were the word of God.

1 Cor. 4:6, "Now these things, brethren, I have figuratively applied to myself and Apollos for your sakes, that in us you might learn not to exceed what is written, in order that no one of you might become arrogant in behalf of one against the other."
It is the written form that is proclaimed as being Scripture, unbreakable, the word of God, and the standard of which we are not to exceed. This can only be true, if the written form is the Word of God, not just something that subjectively contains the word of God.

2 Tim. 3:16-17 says, "All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; 17 that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work."

The word "inspired" is literally "God-breathed." This is an interesting phrase, since it implies that the Scriptures are from the mouth of God.

Likewise, Peter says in 2 Pet. 1:21, "for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God." Notice that Peter is stating that prophecy is not the product of human will. Instead, prophecy occurs by those moved by the Holy Spirit.

God spoke through the mouth of the prophets. We see in Acts 3:18, "But the things which God announced beforehand by the mouth of all the prophets, that His Christ should suffer, He has thus fulfilled." Clearly, Luke, the writer of Acts, understood the Old Testament Scriptures to be spoken by God through the prophets. In fact, we find other references to the Old Testament referring to God speaking through the prophets.

Words spoken through the prophet Jeremiah are referenced in Matt. 2:17, 27:9.
Words spoken through the prophet Isaiah are referenced in Matt. 1:22, 8:17; John 12:37-40.
Words spoken through the prophets Moses and Hosea are referenced in Matt. 2:15.
Words spoken through the prophet David are referenced in Matt. 13:34-35.
Words spoken through the prophet Zechariah are referenced in Matt. 21:4.
Words spoken through the prophets generically are referenced in Matt. 26:56.

Shoo fly, don't bother me
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!

Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite.

Dead wrong.  The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment.

Quote:Some people deserve hell.

I say again:  No exceptions.  Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it.  As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong.

<snipped semi-relevant deflection bullshit>

ROFLOL

I see you're still trying to use the "eternal" deflection... That's your strawman, not mine. First "aeonian" does NOT mean eternal, "aidios" DOES. But anyways, your statement is incorrect, you should have also mentioned how you were wrong about "aeonian" being used to describe God as your whole premise pivotted on the assumption that aeonian was used to describe both God and Hades, remember? Besides that, only the translations say "eternal" The original Greek has aeonian AND aidios. You just can't get this FACT into your head, huh?

You made 2 claims that I challenged.
1. You claimed that the Bible says it is unerring.
2. You also claimed that "it says to follow it or you will go to hell".

These two are what you are responsible for, not your "eternal" strawman.

I like your attempt to support the unerring claim, but you must present the case unless you can get the guys from CARM to post here.
As for your "brethren" remark, I already know you're biggotted, there is no need to keep reminding me. My question for you is: If you're not a Christian (I.E. a believer), why do you still believe the lie? Why support it with the fury and indignation of someone who despises the notion that they may be wrong about what's actually written?

I'll give you some counter-eveidence since you at least made a small attempt at supporting your bare assertions.

Against unerring scripture:
1.Proverbs 14:15
The simple believeth every word: but the prudent man looketh well to his going.
(the one above is just to, well, to make you look simple in supporting the whole unerring thingy)

Against following the Bible ("it says to follow it or you will go to hell"):
First I would need to know if you consider the Bible "Law" or not?
