The Cancer Within the Atheist Community

RE: The Cancer Within the Atheist Community
What allegiance does he hold to atheism that should force him to be a better person for the sake of atheism?

Don't debate and drive. Sounds like a failed motto for the ACLU.

This was one guy that has anger control issues that let those issues lead to an accident.

I'll bet this guy's anger control issues also manifest in other parts of his life not related to religious debates.

Agree. Plus, if this is all the atheist did, well, he didn't cut off anyone's head, or rape anyone, or burn anything, or riot over a frikkin' cartoon. So, there's that.
There is an ALLLL-knowing, ALLLL-powerful, inVISible being who is everywhere, who created the WHOLE universe, who lives in another dimension called heaven, who is perfect in every way, who was never born and will never die, and who watches you every minute of every day (even when you're squeezing one out on the toilet). There are also unicorns, leprechauns, Santa Claus, an Easter Bunny, and a giant purple people eater.

JUST BELIEVE IT!

At least he only messed himself up. Religious people like to go around mucking up everyone else's stuff.

You know there is an atheist bigwig accused of multiple rapes right?

Would you argue that he rapes people in the name of atheism?

I agree with most all the criticisms given so far. I don't really think of atheism as a cause or a way of life. It seems like a pretty marginally significant aspect of anyone's personality or identity. I guess I don't gravitate toward causes generally so I'm not invested in holding up the banner for atheism either. I also don't much care what theists think of atheists though I find I can as easily care about theists as atheists.

Yeah, we're all people, not just atheists. We're not some more rational, more intelligent superior version of the species that needs to be held to some higher standard. We're human, and we'll have human moments on occasion. We'll make mistakes and, yes, sometimes one of us will drive angry and crash a car.

It's not preferred, but let's not act like something like this happening is a black mark on the name of atheism.

Atheists still shouldn't act like that, though.

There is an atheist code of conduct?

Sounds like a fun evening.
