I've been thinking about going back to college and ultimately transfer to a university. I want to major in philosophy of religion or at the least general philosophy or maybe logic. I really like thinking about philosophical arguments for/against religion and theism. Even when arguments fail they are interesting and educational.

It seems like they take personal offense, which would only make sense if god is just a part of them.

Like, even if you insulted my wife and all of my friends, I wouldn't take the insult personally. Even if you insult my idols, my teachers, my protector (if I had one), whatever, I wouldn't take it personally. The only insults I take personally are ones directed specifically at me. So I'd be interested for theists to explain why they take jabs about Jesus and god personally.
