Her response: "I'm not paying $20 for antivirus when it's free." I told her to have fun with those 'free' notifications.

That's odd. I've never had that type of issue with the free version of Avast and I've been running it for years (with no viruses either). Recently, their upgrade notifications have gotten a little pushy, but even that is a once-a-month type of thing.

You probably didn't have a machine full of malware when you installed it. The free version doesn't have 'real time' protection.

At the hospital with my oldest son. He has genetic chronic pancreatitis. Hasn't had to be admitted in 6 years. We are in ER right now. Sad

Warm thoughts your way.

Hopefully all is okay.

Best of luck, Kitsworth. ERs are literally the worst places.

In other medical news, Luckie went through major surgery yesterday morning, and is currently recovering in hospital. The operation was a complete success, moreso than we were even expecting; the surgeon not only corrected the mistakes of the last operation, he also managed to save two feet of the relevant organ- Luckie can tell you herself what it was, if she feels like it- that we had previously been told was unrecoverable and possessing a high risk of becoming cancerous down the line. She's in excellent hands now.

Hope he recovers quickly KG.

So sorry, Kitty.  I hope it'll be at least 6 more years until the next time.  I wish you both all the best.

Best wishes to Luckie and Kitty's son. May all the doctors have studied rather than prayed.
