What's everyone up to right now?

Just reading about this virus they've put into Mosquitos in Townsville, Australia, where 70% in one suburban area can no longer transmit Dengue Fever.
I'm thinking this could be good for Malaria research. Big news to me cause I grew up not far away in Mackay and we were very conscious of mozzies and their breeding habits. Well, this has been interesting. Most of you know I recently started a new job and that I had to turn down (rescinded the acceptance, actually) another offer to take it. Well, these guys decided last Friday that they were going to cut my hours, in half, eliminating my benefits (min. 30 hrs. for benefits). So, I sent an apologetic e-mail to the company I turned down (I'd heard from a head hunter they were still trying to fill the position), got another interview, slam dunked it (again), got a renewed offer early this morning from the first company, gave my two weeks later this morning and was essentially told to fuck off early this afternoon. I'm either really fucking good at what I do, really fucking good at interviewing or really fucking lucky. Maybe a bit of the first two and a lot of the last.
It does say something about my skill set that I could actually withdraw an accepted offer and wind up getting the job anyway.

It was 50 damn degrees here a couple days ago. 85 down to 50, overnight. This is -after- heinous spring early spring floods. I'm staring at work I have to re-do...for the 3rd time.
