I'm still astounded that most hospitals still use silver plates for x-rays... when digital is available at a fraction of the running cost...
My firm did the work for a lot of the silver-plate-to-digital xray transitions for a hospital system in my area. things are moving over, the hospitals just need to find the funding to do it.

As always, plenty of money for war, nowhere near enough for healthcare.

June 16 (Bloomsday) is my Ubergeek day. After work I will go to the local Irish Society's annual event at which drinks will be imbibed and hor d'oeuvres nibbled while local actors give dramatic readings from 'Ulysses', local musicians play traditional Irish tunes, and an LSU literature professor gives a short talk on the life of Nora Joyce. Afterward, it's back home to relish a shot or two of the good stuff and to read a couple chapters of Joyce's opus before bed.

I will celebrate Bloomsday by watching my Golden State Warriors attempt to close out the NBA finals against the greatest playing basketball player.

That would be the cherry on top for me. Not that I give a damn about the Warriors or have anything against James, but I'm rooting hard against the Cleveland fans. First Lebron walked on water; then he became Satan incarnate; now he's ok again. Fuck the Cleveland fans. I sympathized with them when the original Browns ditched them for Baltimore, but they seem to exist just to whine and I'm way over it.

This song sounds SOOOOO much better sped up like this omg, I actually like it now (no shade Bey, but the original was off at that tortoise pace)

Don't go reminding them Browns fans that their football team is an expansion team. They freak the fuck out. I know, the NFL knuckled under and stripped the Ravens of their history, but the Browns fans simply try to deny reality.
