Home at last!!! I'm definitely not a fan of the weather on the East coast. I don't think I've ever sweated so much in my life as I did in New York.

Fuck all yous. I wish my hair was just curly. I have the one downfall of being an Oreo. My hair is a veritable brillo pad. It is coarse and takes all sorts of oils and potions just to look presentable. And the longer it grows, the tighter the curls get, and it ends up looking like a pubic patch. A thick, bristly patch 'o pubes.

So I don't wanna hear it. What with your European coiffures. Shame.

Haha Goddammit, Steel. I'm sitting in my lab all alone laughing my ass off. If any higher up were to walk in now they'd think I was crazy or that I just had a good cry. I was just getting ready to complain about my hair being nothing but a thick fuzz, too, but I guess you win.

Fuck it. I'll still complain. My hair is borderline non-Newtonian. Not exactly a solid and not exactly a liquid. Just a uniform sea of fuzz. I have to use product to get any texture. Not exactly curly and not exactly straight. And it grows outward, rather than down, so I have to keep it short.

It has been a pretty hot spell.  I'm maybe 100 miles from NYC, and I'm having a devil of a time sleeping; I prefer my room around 65 when I fall asleep, and right now it's a lot closer to 85.  And the high's supposed to be in the 80s for the next ten+ days. With humidities in the 80s-90s.

This is what we in the Northeast get for complaining about this winter being too cold and snowy.

So, regarding the title of the thread: What is Joe up to right now?  Trying and failing to cool off.

I got the whole array of weather when I was there:  Day 1 was nice, good walking around temperature, Day 2 poured all morning (when I was on a walking tour of Central Park, go figure) and then dried up when I went to the Natural History Museum, days 3 and 4 were damn near perfect weather, and days 5-9 were a progression of misery as they each got hotter and more humid.  On thursday night I went to Shakespeare in the park and left at almost 11pm fully sweated through every piece of clothing I was wearing.

I'm so glad to be home where humidity levels go damn near unnoticed...

curious... why do people still refer to Digital SLRs as DSLRs? By now, a time when the grand majority of cameras are digital, why still point out the fact that you're using a digital camera?
