I get a new computer at work today!!!  Well, not exactly.  I get to go pick up my new computer this afternoon, but it won't be ready to use until, maybe, Thursday.

Oh I've been in many a spaghetti mess of a server room.  I don't tolerate that.  The network and server room is the lifeblood of the business and should be held to the highest standards.
We are not made happy by what we acquire but by what we appreciate.

Oh been there before.  I've found medical to be the worst.  I worked with a medical firm on the design of their network in their new medical office complex and the board of doctors challenged me that they didn't need a server room, they would just put the servers/switches on a shelf in the cafeteria.....after I realized they weren't kidding, I told them I could no longer be part of the project because I would never put my name on such a design.

My firm does 98% of its work with healthcare systems and we've completed the upgrades to the IT closets/rooms to about 15 of the various regional offices over the last three or four years. Luckily, I was only assisting the PM on those projects but they did not look fun and I got to see some truly appalling spaces in those buildings.
