Growing up we lived without AC here in Florida, but once I ventured on my own as an adult I realized how silly it was for my family to have no AC.

I can't remember where this verse is from, I think it got removed from canon:

That's why I love Michigan.  We truly get four seasons.  Summer is short, winter is long, but we at least get all four seasons.  There's an old saying in Michigan, "if you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes."  It's true we've had ice storms in May and 90+ degrees in October.  Just a few winters ago it was 65 on Christmas Day.
We are not made happy by what we acquire but by what we appreciate.
