What's everyone up to right now?

Just had a cold water shave during late autumn with winter temperatures... Unlike what they say, Portugal isn't always sunny, winters can be really cold, specially up north near the beach. I'm now wrapped in a towel and waiting my body to dry itself, I'm lazy. It's poker night today

It's poker night today I'm spending the weekend in Portugal... after 4 weeks of UK weather... Portugal is still nice and warm... But everyone around me is complaining like you... ![]()

It's poker night today I go to Mexico every winter - in the mornings before it's had a chance to warm up, I see the locals out in sweaters and such, with me in shorts and a t-shirt (the typical nighttime low temperature is what I would consider within my indoor comfort range). Obviously there's some acclimatization going on. ![]() (November 21, 2015 at 3:31 pm)pocaracas Wrote:Aren't you from Lisbon? Are you working in the UK? From my experience, the south is both hotter and far less windy. Curiously, I have a cousin working in London and he says England has more rain but the winter in some parts of Portugal is colder and has more wind. It depends really. We actually had a pretty decent early autumn, lots of sun and hot weather. Today I think it is between 4-10Cº at night. And I'm going out.(November 21, 2015 at 3:25 pm)Dystopia Wrote: Just had a cold water shave during late autumn with winter temperatures... Hooking myself up with all the tv, everywhere. What the hell kind of game is the entertainment industry playing at, releasing Jessica Jones, Man in the High Castle, and Digimon Adventure Tri all on the same day?
And then of course it's the weekend, so there's new Doctor Who, Noragami, and One Punch Man... there isn't enough hours in the day for all this cool shit! ![]()

And currently working in the UK... it's a temporary thing (secondment, they call it)... And... yeah, I agree, Portugal does tend to be windier than the UK. All these mountains must create some nice air flow corridors... the UK doesn't really have mountains (well, at least in the Oxford area), so the wind is mostly a nuisance for bike riders. Today, my phone said it would be between -1 and 4ºC in Oxford. I'm so glad to be in Lisbon, right now! ![]() RE: What's everyone up to right now?

Marveling at the first snow of the year, preparing a public lecture on General Relativity for the centennial next week...
The fool hath said in his heart, There is a God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.
