How do you put your cat to bed?  This is a trick I must learn;...

Here's something I hope will cheer up a hospital designer.

The uni hospital our spawn was born in is a unique building from the late 70s which, alongside the Centre Pompidou in Paris, is considered one of the important examples of European techno modernist architecture. It is now a protected architectural heritage site - including the carpeting!  From the outside, it looks like an oil refinery meets Blade Runner (the helipad is a recent addition)

How 'bout it, Clueless? Why not do some green retro techno desks?

It's funny you should mention that green because that's pretty close to one of the wall colors we were using for the "totally awesome reception desk" project - only not at the reception desk, in other areas of the building.  I do think that there's way too much of the green in that building tho; ours was being used for accent walls, not on the floor, and it was also not quite so neon-looking even though it was quite bright.

I was leery about some of the ways we were using it in our building - as an accent wall in a 10'x11' exam room - I thought it would be way too powerful a color for such a small room, but I wasn't in charge of the finish palette nor of deciding what got painted which color.

Gotta learn to live with other people's decisions when you share your opinion and it isn't accepted. Plus, it's only paint, it can be redone if it looks totally heinous.

When I oversleep I feel as bad as when I do not get enough sleep.

For me it depends if I underslept the previous night or not... but then if I did the "oversleeping" isn't really "oversleeping" is it? It's "catching up"

Heh, I meant overslept as in 'woke up too late to catch the bus'....so I gladly rolled over, slept for another 45mins and got on the next one

How do you put your cat to bed?  This is a trick I must learn;...

We have 2 cats, it only works with one of them.  I tell him it's bed time, and go over to the door to upstairs (where he sleeps on the guest bed) and he runs over, goes thru the door, and then stops on the third step to get a quick rub behind the ears, and then I shut the door, and he goes to bed after checking food and water bowls, and putting a log in the litter box.

The other cat can be bribed to go where I want with food.  Frequently, I just carry an empty tupperware, and he follows.  I find actually giving him a food treat about 10% of the time insures the technique works every time.
