I'm just on my way home to get ready for a Winter Teambuilding Exercise* at work. I still have this cold, but I just went to Boots and bought myself one of those steam inhalers and some Vicks, which should help loads.
(*Definitely not a cover for a staff Christmas Party. We've been told we're once again not allowed a Christmas Party for the 6th year in a row, when all the other stations get one. But we're not allowed, so this is totally not a secret party that the company is unwittingly paying for...)

You're told you don't get to have an Xmas Party? Even if you're a party pooper when it comes to Xmas, that's fucked up.

Well, my 10" Acer tablet is now officially in need of repair. I purchased an aftermarket charger and reset the tablet to factory settings and still the battery does not charge. So that has to be RMA'd to the manufacturer. And I've been asembling the second of two htpc computers (the first is going to recycle an already functioning computer), and got to the point of mounting the heat sink on the cpu and stalled. The heatsinks I've got are push-pin mount heatsinks, and they're a pain in the watusi. I've installed push-pin mount heatsinks since losing my fingers, but I'm just going to order a cheap heatsink with a better mounting.... as soon as my bank takes off those unauthorized charges that I reported a week ago Friday. Until then, I can't even afford a stick of chewing gum. Aaaargh!
